SoulToRole
FAQ

Questions, answered.

The things people ask most about SoulToRole. If yours is missing, write to us.

What is SoulToRole?

SoulToRole is an independent journal exploring consciousness, science, philosophy, spirituality, artificial intelligence and the human experience. It asks questions that belong to more than one field and reads different perspectives side by side.

Is AI conscious?

Nobody knows. Researchers disagree, and some argue we may not be able to tell. In a 2024 study of 300 people in the US, about two-thirds said ChatGPT has some degree of consciousness, which shows how differently the public and the experts may see it. We do not claim machines are conscious or that they are not. We set out the arguments and say where the evidence stops.

Will AI take my job?

No one can say for certain, and we do not make predictions. We write about how people are actually living through the change, and about what surveys and studies do and do not show. See the Human Experience and AI & Humanity topics.

What will I find here?

Essays, and over time written conversations with people who work close to these questions and short pieces that test a single claim. The Start here page explains where to begin.

Who writes it?

SoulToRole is written by Neha, who spent fifteen years in sales and marketing before turning to questions about consciousness, machines and what it means to be human. You can read more on the About page.

Where can I read the essays?

Full essays are published on Substack. This website holds the topic pages and a summary page for each essay, with a link to the full text.

How do I get new essays by email?

Subscribe on Substack. We publish two essays each month, plus conversations with guests and short notes on the news. You will receive an email when each essay is published.

Is SoulToRole medical or professional advice?

No. Everything here is for education and intellectual exploration. It is not medical, psychological, psychiatric or other professional advice, and it does not replace qualified professional care.

Are the images real?

The paintings and illustrations on this site are generated with AI tools and used to illustrate ideas. They do not show real events. The Terms of Use explain this in more detail.

Do you present every view as equally true?

No. We aim to separate established findings from emerging research, interpretation and speculation, and to explore different viewpoints without suggesting every claim has equal evidence. The Editorial Standards page sets this out.

Can I share or reuse your work?

Please link to the essays and share them. If you would like to reproduce text or images, contact us first. The AI-generated images should not be presented as human-made artwork.

How can I contact you or send a correction?

Use the Contact page. We welcome factual corrections and aim to address substantive errors openly.
